Skip was born and raised in Melbourne.

Skip earned his Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and Horticulture from
Mississippi State University. As an undergrad, he completed two
professional internships at the Walt Disney World Resort. His first role was
working as a gardener at Epcot, Disney Springs and the surrounding
resorts. His second internship was managing greenhouses at Epcot’s Land
Pavilion.

Following graduation, Skip managed greenhouses and garden centers
throughout Florida. In 2018, Skip launched his own landscape firm with the
purpose of implementing high impact ecological landscapes throughout the Space Coast & beyond. Focusing on providing habitat to native pollinators, Change of Greenery aims to preserve Florida’s natural beauty in residential & urban settings.

Skip has served on the Florida Association of Native Plants (FANN) Board
of Directors for the last 5 years. He has been a keynote speaker at the
annual UF IFAS Florida Friendly Landscape Seminars in Melbourne, as
well as a guest lecturer for the Conradina Chapter, Sea Rocket Chapter,
and Eugenia Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society.

Change of Greenery has had the pleasure to work on various landscape
projects with local municipalities including the City
of Satellite Beach, Cape Canaveral, City of Melbourne, Melbourne Village,
and Indian River County. Some community partnerships include the Indian
River Land Trust, Melbourne Founders Museum, Lagoon Loyal, Keep
Brevard Beautiful, Surf Rider Space Coast, Family Promise of Brevard,
Steady Town, and the Conradina Chapter of the Florida Native Plant
Society. Change of Greenery was featured on three episodes of Discover
Florida’s ‘Flip My Florida Yard’ program.
