We design, build & maintain landscapes for residential and commercial properties using methods and plants that preserve and protect our fragile ecosystem

Celebrating the first day of being able to wear a long sleeved shirt here in Brevard County!

Here's another fall appreciation post for your feed. If you follow us, you probably follow a plethora of other native plant enthusiasts and have seen many a muhly grass and bee balm picture.. but how can we not?!

All the classic Florida fall violet hues we've observed over the last few weeks. Some shots of purple in the landscape, in the wild, and even in a floral arrangement.

Wrapped up a super neat one on the southern tip of Merritt Island this week.

Added and cleaned up the pathways, new coquina borders and some fresh plants!

Feeling super grateful to have done an install on this property, nestled between the Indian & Banana Rivers. There's something so special about working on a mature native landscape. Maybe it's smelling the White Stopper blooms in the shade of a Gumbo Limbo, & watching atalas play tag while the breeze cuts across the island from river to river..

We were honored to be recognized last month by @kbbeautiful_ for our teams hard work at Heritage Park at Crane Creek

Heritage park is a special place. The first of its kind in our state. It merges the world's of low income housing developments with native plant landscaping. It allows for residents to have a sense of space and nature in a community that could have easily been landscaped 'conventionally'

The landscape boasts 30+ species of butterfly, countless birds, wild turkeys, and other furry friends. There are over 200 species of native plants on the grounds and counting

We are proud to maintain the landscape at Heritage Park & to be apart of the community. Many thanks to our partners with Steady Town & Carrfiur for creating such a thoughtful development

Recently realized we've had this account for 3 years and have never actually introduced ourselves. 🤦
We are the Healy family, the folks behind Change of Greenery. Skip, Erin, Ilex Marie and Annona Rae.

Skip can mostly be found doing site visits, running landscape installations, driving a dump truck or in an actual hole.

Erin draws up our designs and oversees our maintenance accounts.

We both do the ins and outs of running a business and a family, depending on the day.

We have 2 daughters. Ilex (2 years) and Annona (6 weeks) who both show little interest in plants as of now.. but they're cute so we'll give them a pass.

It's starting to heat up here in Florida, which makes working outside a sweaty struggle.
But then you get these views with these plants and the field buzzing with life and it makes everything worth it.

Check out these bee holes!
I know this picture doesn't look like much but there's so much more than meets the eye. The majority of our native bee species are solitary and over half of those are ground nesting. Having a bare patch of soil in your lawn is an eye sore for most home owners, but it's a delightful sight for bees!

Try to leave some spots in your yard free of weed cloth, mulch and turf. It's a welcome home sign for our bee friends!

Plus it's really fun to walk around your yard with a friend or family and getting to say things like "Check out this bhole," "Have you ever seen such a beautiful bhole?" and "Wow, I've never seen so many bholes in one spot before!"

Sea oats, seagrapes, and yall.. that silver saw palmetto (planted by the owner over 20 years ago) is absolutely stunning, we're all obsessed! Thanks to @artsybeachcottage for trusting us with another one of your properties 🤗 if you're looking for a vacation rental in the Cocoa Beach area, look no further!
